General rules when travelling abroad during corona

Depending on which country you intend to visit and which transport mode you decide to use, the restrictions you need to follow may vary. You have a personal responsibility to travel in a precautious and disease preventive manner, both for your own sake and for the sake of others.

You have also a personal responsibility to establish what requirements and restrictions that apply to the country of your intended travels. We at Scantest do not have the possibility to specific the requirements for different countries, as they can change with short notice.

However, we can offer tests that meet all the requirements that may arise. Most often, PCR or Antigen tests are utilized when traveling. All our tests include a certificate to prove that you have been tested. In some cases, you may need a certificate signed by a doctor, then an additional cost of 300 SEK will occur.

Information before you travel

Before you leave, there are some things to keep in mind.

Pre-trip checklist

Establish what requirements and restrictions that apply to you and book the test that meet your needs. Make sure that your travel insurance cover a potential infection and calculate your budget to cover unforeseen expenses in case you are unable to travel home as planned.

Rules may vary

Each country and airline set different requirements that constantly change with short notice. Make sure you have the most up-to-date information and check back for updates as your trip gets closer, to avoid any unpleasant surprises.

Located close to you

We are growing and rapidly appearing at new locations throughout Sweden. All our centres are strategically located to make it easier for you to stop by for a visit.

Traveling to Sweden

The Ministry for Foreign Affairs advises against non-essential travel to a number of countries. If you have visited one of those countries in the past seven days before entering Sweden, you are recommended to get tested for COVID-19 upon entry to Sweden, and on day five following your arrival. Travellers are also recommended to self-isolate and avoid close contact with others for seven days, even if a negative test result is obtained.

Travellers from outside the Nordic countries have to present a negative COVID-19 test result before they are permitted to enter Sweden. The test must have been conducted a maximum of 48 hours prior to arrival.

Swedish citizens and travellers from Norway, Finland, Denmark, and Iceland do not have to present a negative COVID-19 test result to enter Sweden. This also applies to persons under the age of 18 and persons with a residence permit in Sweden.

Note: All persons, including those who are exempt from the requirement to present a negative Covid-19 test upon entry into Sweden. Should irrespectively inform themselves of any additional restrictions stated by the airline, local authorities, or potential transit countries.
